I’m running for City Council because Hillsboro is at an important moment. Families are feeling the pressure of layoffs, housing costs, and uncertainty about the future. I believe our city can respond with practical leadership, clear priorities, and collaboration that delivers results people can feel.

I’ve worked at the intersection of business, community, and local government. I understand how decisions made at City Hall affect jobs, neighborhoods, and everyday life. I’m ready to bring that experience to City Council.

MY PRIORITIES FOR HILLSBORO

These are the issues I hear about most, and where I will focus my time and energy on City Council.

Economic Development

Protect jobs, diversify our economy, and support businesses of all sizes. Hillsboro must strengthen its semiconductor base while also bringing in new industries so we are not dependent on one sector during layoffs or downturns. When layoffs hit, Hillsboro families and local businesses feel it immediately. A strong economy supports families, city services, and long-term stability.

Housing You Can Stay In

Affordability, stability, and pathways forward. Housing should allow people to stay in their community, not force them out. Too many families are working hard and still struggling to stay rooted in the place they call home. That means removing barriers to housing supply, supporting renter and landlord stability, expanding homeownership opportunities, and lowering long-term costs through energy efficiency.

Community Safety and Belonging

Public safety works when everyone feels safe. Safety depends on trust, coordination, and clear communication. A strong community is one where people feel safe, respected, informed, and heard. When that happens, communities are stronger and safer. The city must show up with transparency, partnership, and follow-through for all community members.

Opportunity Pipeline & Continuous Learning

Clear pathways to good-paying work. Hillsboro’s future depends on connecting people to real opportunities. I’ve seen in my own family how the right support, from education to workforce pathways, can open doors and shape a stronger future. Apprenticeships, CTE programs, workforce training, and education partnerships should connect people to real jobs while removing barriers like transportation, childcare, and access to information.

Education & Arts Partnerships

Strong schools and a thriving arts community build a strong city. My children came through HSD, and serving on the Hillsboro School District 2026 Bond Development Committee has strengthened my belief that investing in students is an investment in Hillsboro’s future. I was also a founding sponsor of the Hillsboro Film Festival, because arts partnerships help build community pride, energize downtown, and support local businesses.

Strong schools and a thriving arts community build a strong city. While City Council does not govern schools, leadership means partnership. Supporting education and arts strengthens community pride, energizes downtown, and helps local businesses thrive.

Community Leadership

My record of service did not begin with this campaign. If you want a deeper look at my volunteer leadership across business, education, civic engagement, and community initiatives, you can find it here.

LEADERSHIP THAT LISTENS AND DELIVERS

I don’t believe in politics built on labels or extremes. I believe in listening, asking hard questions, and working with others to find solutions that work for Hillsboro.

Throughout my career, I’ve brought together business leaders, nonprofits, educators, and community members to move projects forward. That’s exactly what I’m bringing to City Council. Practical, respectful, and focused on results.

Hillsboro deserves leadership that understands how policies affect real people and is willing to do the work to get things done.
