Hillsboro cannot rely on boom-and-bust cycles. We must protect and strengthen our semiconductor base while also attracting complementary industries that make our economy more stable during layoffs and market shifts. When layoffs happen, Hillsboro families feel it. I\u2019ve seen it firsthand, and that is why economic diversification is not just a talking point for me. It is personal. When a major employer slows down, families, small businesses, and city services all feel it.<\/p>

Trabajar\u00e9 para eliminar las barreras que frenan la producci\u00f3n de viviendas y aumentan los costos. Apoyar la vivienda de clase media desfavorecida cerca de empleos, servicios y transporte p\u00fablico es parte de ese enfoque. La estabilidad es importante tanto para inquilinos como para propietarios, y quienes compran por primera vez necesitan v\u00edas realistas para convertirse en propietarios de vivienda.\u00a0<\/p>

The city\u2019s role is to provide transparency, coordination, and partnership with community organizations, service providers, and residents. That includes clear communication, listening sessions, referrals to services, and safety planning when communities experience fear or disruption. I will support efforts that strengthen trust, address challenges early, and help ensure the success of Hillsboro\u2019s homeless shelter and stronger pathways from crisis to stability. A city that protects trust protects everyone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hillsboro\u2019s future depends on whether residents can access the jobs our economy offers. I\u2019ve seen in my own family how the right support can open doors and change what feels possible. That is why I believe we need an opportunity pipeline that connects youth and adults to apprenticeships, internships, CTE programs, certifications, and workforce training matched to real employer needs.<\/p>

City Council does not directly govern education, but leadership is not limited to what is in your lane. I will work to strengthen the city\u2019s partnership with Hillsboro School District, the superintendent, and the school board on shared priorities such as safe routes, facilities coordination, youth opportunity efforts, and after-school partnerships. That is why I currently serve on the HSD 2026 Bond Development Committee.<\/p>

Education and the arts both help shape the kind of city Hillsboro becomes. I have seen through efforts like the Hillsboro Film Festival how arts and community partnerships can bring people together, energize downtown, and support local businesses. Investment in both education and the arts strengthens community pride and helps Hillsboro remain a place where families want to live, work, and build their future.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
